Who We Are

Mish Sommers is Bay Consulting’s lead coach and consultant.

She loves to work closely with leaders who are undergoing change, in their personal and professional lives, and to support those who are energized to create new possibilities.

Mish has led Corporate Leadership and Team Building programs in board rooms, conference halls, and in remote retreat locations for over twenty-five years in both the US and Australia. Mish holds a Gallup Coaching Certification for work with Individuals, Teams, Managers & Leaders, and is pursuing ICF PCC certification as a Transformational Leadership Coach with Second Freedom under Marion Riehmann. Mish has is training in both Positive Intelligence (PQ) practices and MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and facilitates mindfulness programs in nature on a seasonal basis. She holds a Masters in Project Management and Communication from Northeastern University, and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from Cornell.

Mish has over twenty years of experience working as a leader in Marketing, Project Management, Training, and Business Operations. Her background in business administration, coaching, leadership, and innovation has helped small and mid-sized for-profit and non-profit organizations build functional teams, manage projects, and get their systems in order. Mish especially loves finding ways to bring the lessons of thriving in the outdoors into her work with organizations who are willing and interested - and above all adores both working 1:1 with leaders, and facilitating a-ha insights for teams in any setting. She works full time as an Organizational Transformation Manager at the Finance Authority of Maine, and consults with small and medium sized businesses in Leadership and Change Management through Bay Consulting. She coaches individuals in personal and professional growth because she loves to continue to offer support in many different settings.

Mish moved to Lincolnville, Maine, USA from her home town of Fremantle, Western Australia in 1999. Mish has held volunteer positions with the Maine Women’s Fund, SCORE, SunDog Outdoor Expeditions, Maine GearShare, and currently volunteers with the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute as a mentee Advisor. Mish founded the mission-based organization Happier Outside which provides programs and inspirational content to inspire people to spend more time in nature.

She lives year-round in Maine with her family of busy teenagers, project-loving husband, and tenacious cats… and spends most of the rest of her spare time and spends most of her spare time immersed in the outdoors or dancing to live music!
